Summary
CBD is growing in popularity as an ingredient in our everyday products and often featured in our industry's service offerings. Although CBD is legal in many states, it is illegal in the US & Canada to send text messages with language related to age-restricted products or services such as CBD, alcohol, tobacco, gambling, etc.

What does my business need to do to continue sending text messages?
The most commonly used forbidden word is "CBD" and to protect your business and your text message reputation, our software will substitute "CBD" for "Calming" automatically in any text message. If you are using a different forbidden CBD related word, there are two options:
- Remove Booked Services merge field from the text message field in Notifications & Reminders (located in Setup > Setup Appointments & Emails).
- Remove any CBD related language from all Service & Package Names and Client Facing Names (located in Setup > Setup Services).
What happens if I do not make any changes to my service name, notifications or reminders?
Unfortunately, your business would no longer be able to send text messages via Inspire by STX. Additionally, this shut off could potentially flag your business from being able to register for text messages or marketing in the future with any other company.
Do other softwares and text carriers have these limitations?
This limitation is not an Inspire by STX limitation, it is a law related to sending text messages from phone numbers within the United States of America and Canada and is a matter you would encounter with all other North American software or text message providers.
