Product Sales by Rank

Location: Reports > Inventory & Gift Reports

The Product Sales by Rank Report compares top-selling products with least-selling products using velocity coding to categorize product sales into A, B, C, and D rankings. This report can be printed or exported for additional review and analysis.



To Generate the Report
  • Enter a date range.
  • Use the Product Line drop-down menu to filter the report to a specific product line, if desired.
  • Use the Report Type drop-down menu to select:
    • Company — displays sales for the entire company.
    • Worker — displays sales by an individual worker.
  • Choose to Include Unsold Products or Include Professional Products
  • Click Generate.
Product Ranking Categories
Products are categorized based on completed ticket sales within the selected date range and filters applied.
  • A Category = Top 60% of all product sales
  • B Category = Next 20% of all product sales
  • C Category = Next 15% of all product sales
  • D Category = Bottom 5% of all product sales
    • Can also include unsold products when the Include Unsold Products option is selected.



Report Columns explained:
  • Product Name — The name of the product.
  • Size — The size of the product.
  • Unit of Measure — The unit of measure assigned to the product (examples: grams, units, fl oz, ounces, etc.).
  • Quantity — The total quantity sold.
  • Total Sales — The total revenue generated from the product.
  • Cost of Goods — The total cost paid to purchase the quantity sold.
  • Net Revenue — Total Sales minus Cost of Goods.
  • ROI % — Net Revenue divided by Cost of Goods.


Sorting Options
Each ranking table can be sorted individually using the following options:
  • ROI % — Displays products in descending order based on ROI percentage.
  • Net Revenue — Displays products in descending order based on net revenue.
  • QTY — Displays products in descending order based on quantity sold.
  • Total Sales — Displays products in descending order based on total sales value.
  • Cost of Goods — Displays products in descending order based on cost amount.
Table Subtotals
At the bottom of each ranking table, a subtotal row will display totals based on the selected date range and any additional filters applied.
The subtotal row includes:
  • Subtotal for Total Sales
  • Subtotal for Cost of Goods
  • Subtotal for Net Revenue
  • Subtotal for ROI %


Report Totals
At the end of the report, overall totals for all ranking tables combined will display based on the selected date range and applied filters.
The report totals include:
  • Total Sales
  • Total Cost of Goods
  • Total Net Revenue
  • Total ROI %


IdeaNote: To allow workers to have retail sales assigned to them during checkout, navigate to Setup > Setup Worker Details and enable the option to allow retail assignment for the worker.
