Tippy Quick Guide

Important Details about Tippy Transactions

Once you click the Send to Tippy button, you must either complete the ticket after the Tippy Selections or choose the Cancel - Exit Tippy option. If you leave the ticket, open another ticket, or try to start another transaction - it may require a forced reload of the Tippy device. Additionally, it is important to leave tickets after making the adjustments from other devices.

How to send a transaction from Inspire Checkout to Tippy

From Inspire Checkout, click the Send to Tippy button.

Sent to Tippy, but need to make Inspire Ticket Changes

From the Inspire Checkout Tippy pop-up, select Update Ticket. Make the changes to the ticket and click Send to Tippy again. This will reset all the Tippy selections and start over. 

Client changed tipping plans, but still plans to use Tippy. 

From the Inspire Checkout Tippy pop-up, select Update Ticket and then select Send to Tippy again. This will reset all the Tippy selections and start over. 

Client decided not to leave Tippy Tips after sending the transaction to Tippy

From Inspire Checkout Tippy pop-up, click Cancel - Exit Tippy.
Warning
Note: Once this is cancelled, you cannot choose the Send to Tippy button again. 

Clicked Send to Tippy but, now the customers taking longer than expected and there's a backup at the desk. 

At that workstation, it will not allow you to send new transactions to Tippy until the current ticket is completed or cancelled. The guests can checkout using another workstation, wait for the current guest to finish or if that isn't an option, you can follow these steps:
  1. For Client A, who's transaction was sent to tippy but they aren't ready - select Cancel - Exit Tippy from the checkout page.
  2. Continue Checkout for Client B, Client C, etc. 
  3. When Client A is ready, re-create their ticket in a new ticket and click Send to Tippy (assuming they want to leave Tippy Tips).
  4. Once the ticket is completed from Step 3, go back to the original ticket in Step 1 and choose VOID TICKET
